JOURNAL
Longer thoughts, product notes, ink tests, notebook opinions, creative process, and stationery arguments that need more room than an Instagram caption.
Somewhere Slower
Desktop Nerd started on Instagram, but some things need more room than a caption and more shelf life than a reel. So the useful stuff now has somewhere slower to live.
The Downloads Drawer Is Open
The Downloads section is now open with its first two releases: Brain Dump, a rough handwritten display font, and Ink Swatch Sheets Vol. 01, a printable set for testing inks and keeping track of what is actually in use.
Perfect Notebooks Are a Problem
The perfect notebook can become the notebook you never actually use. Good paper, nice binding, and a clean first page are great until they start creating pressure instead of reducing friction. A notebook proves itself in use, not by staying pristine on a shelf.
Ink Swatches Lie Sometimes
A swatch shows you what an ink can do: the drama, the saturation, the weird edges, the undertones. But writing shows you what the ink actually does when it has to behave through a nib, on real paper, in normal use.
How Many Pens Is Enough?
A slightly uncomfortable look at collecting, frictionless journalling, gear acquisition syndrome, and the point where having too many options starts making the whole thing harder than it needs to be.
LONGER THAN A CAPTION
Instagram is where most of the daily Desktop Nerd mess happens. This Journal is for the bits that need more room: product thoughts, ink notes, notebook opinions, process rambles, and the occasional stationery argument.
